The disaster is over, much of the volunteer debris removal will be wrapping up this week, news coverage is moving on . . . but the recovery has only just begun. In the next couple of weeks, community organizations/churches and the members of VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) will continue providing aid. Also, they will begin looking at what unmet needs remain, including those of the uninsured or underinsured. Even for the insured, they will have need of spiritual/emotional care and perhaps advocacy in working with insurance companies.
The wounds of those who've lost love ones, lost homes, lost pets, or lost a sense of security will not quickly heal. Please continue to keep Murfreesboro in your prayers and those partners who will continue to work to bring healing.
